Little Dragons is our after school program designed specifically for children ages 5-7.  It will teach your child about the principles of Martial Arts and prepares your child for joining the Isshin-Ryu Karate program.  Little Dragons is a fun activity that keeps your children busy as we have them exercise in a fun way and learn karate at the same time.  It is a good way for your children to make friends as it is in a friendly environment that encourages your children to be open and engage with other kids.

Our Classes are on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:20 pm.

We teach Okinawan Karate that in- cludes basic moves, Kata or forms, Weapons (must be 10 or older), Spar- ing, Bully Defense, Ground Work, and Intro to Mixed Martial Arts. Classes are twice a week, an hour in length and we keep them busy. We start off with: Stretching, crunches, push ups; basic exercise—blocks, punches, kicks; work on kata or self defense or sparring and so forth. We provide basic safety equipment, but you may get your own.  We encourage all prospective students to give a class or two a try. After you join, you will get some one on one with either a brown belt or a Black Belt Instructor.  As your students progresses, you will see them mature and be given leadership roles in the class. This can be from leading and exercise to mentoring other students on Kata or basic exercises.  We encourage you to watch your child in class, help them at home by encouraging them to prac- ce or show you what they are working on for class. Please have them there on me, ready to go as this makes learning better for them.

Join one of our trainers for an hour of unique exercises to tighten and strengthen your body. This type of training allows for a wide variety of exercises that works every muscle group. Flexible Strength will improve all fitness areas by emphasizing coordination, balance and core strength.

At New Bern Boxing, MMA & Fitness we offer Ladies Kickboxing which helps women learn self-defense and burn fat in a proactive manner while we teach the basics of kickboxing.  Ladies will learn proper techniques in punching and kicking using sparring equipment and various sparring dummies and other floor exercises.  This is a fitness class that is great for endurance, strength, and speed as we work to help you get a proper kickboxing form throughout the class.  The class is taught by Pro MMA fighter Raynold Telus.



If aerobic fitness is what you desire, then come and challenge yourself with Ladies Zumba at New Bern Karate and Fitness. We take the "work" out of workout, by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. Once the Latin and World rhythms take over, you'll see why Ladies Zumba classes are often called exercise in disguise. Super effective and Super fun. Featuring a total Workout, which combines elements of fitness including cardio, balance, muscle conditioning. Flexibility, boosted energy and all out fun.  This class is taught by Sharon Wilkerson.

New Bern Boxing, MMA & Fitness now has boxing.  Boxing promotes and incorporates cardio health, strength training, punching techniques ,fighting technique and circular training strength training.   Boxing includes Mentoring for youth an kids,

Classes are offered as follows:

  • Monday-Saturday 6:30-8:30 AM 

  • Monday-Thursday from 3:30 to 5 PM

  • Sundays - open gym 1-5 PM
